Entrecard Entry

This is a bit late but that’s ok. I’m not a huge fan of Entrecard or other blog networking website so writing about it would be the last thing I would do. But some of my friend constantly asked me “how to start one?” or “how does it work?” So here it is. Signing up with EntreCard is so easy but getting the most out of it is not a walk in the park.

You should have an existing blog/website in the first place of course. Register your site for free at Entrecard select a category of your site and make a 125 x 125 image that best describe your site. Then select the widget you want to appear in your site and copy-paste the html code.

You’re almost done on your way to Entrecard stardom. But before anything else you need to earn credits first since advertising here is done thru ec(Entrecard credits) and not thru your plastic visa. You can earn credits by dropping other member’s card found somewhere in their blog/site and vise versa. You can also earn ec when someone advertises in your blog.

Lastly, promote your site. The cheapest advertising price is 2ec. Consider checking the site as well before you advertise. Does it have enough traffic and regular reader? Is it related to your blog/site? Those are just few things you need to consider to make the most of Entrecard.

How Delta-Northwest merger could affect you?

The merger of two giant airlines Delta and Northwest could be a major airline upheaval that will directly affect millions of travelers including myself if regulators will approve it. According to report: If regulators approve, the Delta-Northwest deal would combine the second- and fourth-largest U.S. airlines into one megacarrier--with the Delta name--that controls nearly 18 percent of the domestic market. Some analysts think that United and Continental may soon consummate another merger, forming an even bigger carrier with nearly a 20 percent market share.

Do you know what that means? It means higher fares and more crowded planes, yikes, not just because of the rising of fuel price but due to the consolidation, the merge airlines will seek ways to reduce flight in some routes which will result in squeezing of passengers onto fewer planes. That is unfair!

To make things even worst some analysts say less service in regional market and service problems, since merged airlines would also cut back on service to some second- and third-tier cities, mainly because there would be redundant entry points for getting travelers from those cities into their networks. And usually when two corporation is merging up the operating procedures and computer system is very complicated at a certain point that it will affect the performance of the system.

Blogging seems to be the easiest way in making money online. You don’t need to be a geeky programmer or ace web designer to start one; as long as you know how to write then you’re good to go.

Today numerous blogging website provides the service absolutely free. What I recommend if you’re not ready to own up a domain yet is Blogspot or Blogger which is own by Google. It’s user friendly and everything you need is already laid down including the Ads, all you have to do is consistently update your blog.

Before you can start monetize you’re blog you need to gather more reader first, you need to increase your site’s traffic, page views and live hits. Sounds technical? It’s actually not; you will learn the nitty-gritty of it as you go along the way.

Three things you need to consider in buying a laptop

Having a laptop for a businessman is like a compass for mountain climber. It’s very essential for a business to organize your files and have a systematic record system. And who else could better do that than personal computer or a laptop. But what are the things you need to consider in buying a laptop? Well, it depends on how you will use it today and in the future. You need to accurately assess yourself with your current needs and your need in the future. When I was still a student a laptop wasn’t really necessary for me but when I started trekking the corporate jungle and sidelining some nifty businesses the need for it arose. Okay here are some easy to ponder important aspect of today’s laptop.

Portability

Do you always travel? Does your business contact comes from almost everywhere that bringing the machine is an absolute necessity? Then an ultra-portable laptop would be comfortable for you. It has a typical screen size of either 12.1 inches or 13.3 inches and weigh 3 pounds or less. Examples of it are the new Macbook Air, Dell XPS 1330, HP 2510p and the Lenovo ThinkPad X series. You might as well consider semi-portable if you occasionally travel but will prefer leaving it plugged on your desk. It has a 15.4-inch size which almost every manufacturer has its own model/unit. If you want it as a desktop replacement or gaming notebook then portability is not an option since these laptops comes in heavy and massive. Although it’s practical but it’s also expensive equivalent to 4 decent desktop computers. They are the Ferraris of laptop/notebook which has a size of 17” or in some unit 19”-20”. Famous gaming notebooks are Alienware Area-51 m-9750, Gateway’s P-171XL FX and the HP HDX and Dell’s XPS 1730.

Screen Size

Screen size is very important specification since it goes to the very core of the machine. The larger it is, the massive your laptop will be and the higher system requirement it needs. But then again it will depend on the purpose of your laptop. Today most laptop has an aspect ratio of 16:10 like a movie screen or the widescreen ratio. It is better for watching movies since it has a wider display and much easier to navigate. The other screen size which has a standard ratio of 4:3 like a square is hard to find since most manufacturer prefer widescreen, which I prefer also.

Connectivity

According to Josh Norem of Digital Trend, “Wireless Internet technology has been advancing over the years and is currently on the cusp of the next major revision, dubbed 80211.N. This will succeed the current standard, 80211.G, and promises major improvements in both range and speed. We reviewed an N router awhile back and its performance simply blew us away compared to wireless G. Just as we would tell someone who is in the market for a wireless router to go with a Draft-N router, we’ll tell you to look for a notebook that supports the new N standard. Once it’s fully implemented, it will likely be the standard for quite some time. The only caveats are that it requires an N router, and it only improves performance across a network. In other words, your download speeds won’t improve using N, but file transfer speeds across a network will be much faster.” Well right now I am using the 80211.G and I find it as good as a cable connection but if you’re still in the lookout then I think the upgrade will work far better but you might pay an extra penny for it.

Lastly, laptop’s cost is directly proportional to its specification and will depend on the manufacturer’s reputation while tech support and warranty will vary from vendor to vendor. So if you already figure out what you want in a laptop then decide where you want to purchase it. You might try checking those deals offered by chitika on the far-left side of this site. Or join some online forums they will be the more glad to answer your question.
